STAFFORD, Va. - Upper Perkiomen's wrestling team boarded the bus Friday morning with snow falling and, despite having no problems arriving for the 9th annual Battlefield Duals, found weathering a storm of competition on the mats was indeed a problem.

The Indians dropped three of their four matches in the grueling two-day event wasn't available at deadline.

After opening with a 43-21 decision of Kellam. Va., Upper Perkiomen dropped its next three -- first to Pennsylvania rival Connellsville, 46-28; then to Virginia state power Colonial Forge, 52-13; and its finale to Huntington, W.Va., 43-23 -- which dropped their overall record to 7-6.

Cody Ambrose (189 pounds) was the Indians' lone unbeaten on the day, going 4-0. Dante Steffenino (103), Dylan Steffenino (112) and Dan Rodenberger (135) each went 3-1, while Dalton Fleming (215) went 2-2. Kyle Fellman (119) won his lone bout.

They return to the mats this morning (10:00) for the final Pool A match against River Hill, Md. They'll get a bye in the 11:45 a.m. round, before resuming wrestling in the medal rounds at 2:30 p.m.
